Transforming exhausted parents into well-rested families through gentle, customized sleep solutions and compassionate postpartum support in the Hudson Valley.

If you’re in the thick of early motherhood wondering, “Why didn’t anyone tell me it would be like this?”—you’re not alone. It’s exactly what led me to this work, and why I became a sleep consultant and postpartum doula in the first place.
Bringing home a baby is beautiful and life-changing. But it’s also intense, emotional, and often deeply overwhelming.
Many families prepare thoroughly for pregnancy and birth—yet the postpartum period can feel like uncharted territory. That’s exactly why I’ve made it my mission to support as many parents as possible through this transition.
In this post, I’m sharing the real reason why I became a sleep consultant and postpartum doula. My journey was born from lived experience, deep empathy, and a desire to show up for mothers in the way I wish someone had shown up for me.
As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a mom.
I’ve spent more than 20 years caring for babies and young children—as a professional nanny, family daycare provider, and now a mother of three. I thought I was prepared. I thought I knew what to expect.
But the truth is… nothing prepared me for how hard postpartum would be.
I quickly realized I wasn’t alone. So many of the families I worked with—especially first-time parents—were navigating the same storm: exhaustion, confusion, loneliness, and a lack of meaningful support.
I remember breastfeeding my third baby while using a nipple shield, sitting on the couch for hours afraid to move in case I woke her. I had zero lactation support—and no idea where to turn.
Nighttime was even harder. I’d nurse, then pump, then hope for a brief window of sleep before the next wake-up. I watched my husband sleep soundly while I battled resentment, frustration, and extreme sleep deprivation.
And yet, no one checked in on me.
Not one person asked how I was transitioning into motherhood. The assumption was that I’d eventually figure it out.
Looking back? It should never have happened that way.
My daughter’s sleep remained a struggle for years.
I followed outdated advice like, “Never wake a sleeping baby,” and blamed myself when things didn’t improve. If you’re dealing with similar struggles, read my blog on 5 gentle fixes for common baby sleep problems.
What I really needed was someone to say:
“You’re not broken. And you don’t have to do this alone.”
Throughout my career, one thing remained consistent: I believed in the power of routines. They helped children thrive and gave parents a sense of structure and calm.
Still, I noticed that some babies struggled with sleep no matter how consistent we were. I wanted to understand why—and more importantly, how to help.
That’s what led me to become a certified sleep consultant and postpartum doula. The more I learned, the more I saw just how intertwined sleep and postpartum support really are.
I realized:
This isn’t just about sleep schedules.
It’s about emotional recovery, identity shifts, and whole-family care.
This isn’t just my profession—it’s my calling.
I became a sleep consultant and postpartum doula because I never want another mom to feel as unseen and unsupported as I once did.
Today, I help families achieve sleep success while feeling deeply supported in their postpartum journey. I bring not only training and expertise—but also empathy, understanding, and real-life experience.
You’re doing your best.
You’re not failing.
And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Whether you’re struggling with sleep, feeling disconnected from yourself, or simply trying to stay afloat—I see you. I’ve been you. And I’m here to help.
If you’re ready for real support—from someone who’s walked this path—I’d be honored to walk it with you.
